I don't get this claim/argument. Why should we complacently stand by as CCP screws up an otherwise good game and wastes resources. The whole point of the CSM (assuming it isn't just a publicity stunt) was supposedly to encourage player feedback. That's exactly what this thread is an IMO the OP has a very good point.
Ambulation, while common in mainstream MMOs, is not necessary for EVE. I play eve because it isn't just another MMO. The devs seem to agree with this sentiment (for example they refuse to shard, even though thats probably more efficient). Yet here they are making it just yet another MMO.
They will be forced to split developer resources in half - between ambulation bugs/stuff/OMG I WANT GUNS FOR AMBULATION and what EVE was meant to be - a space combat game with a dynamic item production system.
Do you subscribe to the "love it or leave it" philosophy with the country you live in?
First off, adapt or leave is what all the veterans spouted to newer players when they asked questions when I started playing.
Secondly, No resources from EVEs development team are working on anything associated with ambulation. These individuals were hired to work on the White Wolf World of Darkness project. If these people were not hired for this project CCP would not have hired them at all.
Thirdly, it was the OP that stated that so many of the veterans he knows have quite, not I.
Fourthly, ambulation will not make it like every other MMO because you do not have to participate; period. I for one will make limited use of it because I have no need for it, but I do see it as a positive plus because I would like to see the World of Darkness game make it and if the EVE player base can help with that so be it.
Play and enjoy it. Play and hate it or leave. It is that simple, no amount of wine is going to stop this from happening. The only thing yall can hope for is that The World of Darkness fails. At which point yall can come back and say I told you so.
